Mystery Book Club 

"Books Sandwiched In" is our monthly Mystery Book Club.  The meeting date in March has been moved back a week.  We will meet in the Lemons Room at noon on March 17th.  If you are a mystery lover, bring a sack lunch and join us.  The discussion book in March is Sue Grafton's "A is for Alibi".  Drinks and dessert are provided by the library.

Thursday evening Classic Movies

The library will be starting two new series that will alternate for eight weeks in March and April.  The first series is entitled, "Dangerous Women" appealing to serious movie buffs.  This series will begin on March 4th awith a showing of the 1945 classic, "Leave Her to Heaven".  The second series is called Classic Stinkers and will feature movies so bad they're good.  Lovers of tacky flicks will want to see this series.  We'll start off on March 11th with the 1956 Sci-Fi masterpiece of camp, "Forbidden Planet" and go downhill from there until we reach the end of the series and the worse movie ever made.

Classic Movies will run every Thursday evening in March and April at 6:00PM expect for April 15th.  There is no charge for admission.  A complete list of films is available at the library.

Webb City Public Library

Will be hosting three Discovery Traveling Exhibits 

For more information please call the library at (417) 673 -4326.  This year's Discovery Traveling Exhibit series is underwritten by a grant from the Wal-Mart Foundation, Arkansas.

Art of Ancient Egypt

February 1st through 6th: Featuring fascinating and eye-opening images and stories celebrating the art of Ancient Egypt, King Tut's Tomb, hieroglyphs and more.

Civil War 

April 12th through 17th: Filled with stories, letters and amazing photographs that are both thought provoking and beautiful.  This exhibit shows the grim reality of the Civil War.

Diego Rivera 

May 3rd through 8th: Featuring the spectacular murals of Diego Rivera, considered a national treasure of Mexico.  Enjoy the giant reproductions featuring the beautiful "Sunday Afternoon in Alameda Park". The exhibit celebrates art and Mexican culture.

 


Local Food Banks Need Your Help

The Webb City Public Library is currently taking non-perishable food for library fines.  Donations are gladly accepted and will be given to agencies who work with families in need.  No cash will be given back and cans must be within expiration dates.
