Library Rules

 

The library is a public place that is used by people of all ages and backgrounds. In order to make visiting the library safe and pleasant for everyone, we ask that the following courtesies be observed:


 

  • Concealed weapons are not allowed inside the library or on library property.
  • Parents, please teach your children to be quiet inside the library.
  • All children under the age of 12 should be accompanied by an adult. All children present in the library at closing time will be handed over to the police.
  • Speak softly. People are reading and studying.
  • Do not eat or drink on the main floor of the library.
  • You must be fully clothed -- shoes and shirts required.
  • You may not run, rollerblade or skateboard in the library or on the library grounds.
  • We have a bicycle rack on the north side of the library. Please use it. Do not bring bicycles inside the building or leave them on the west steps.
  • Loitering is not allowed.
  • Hassling people entering or leaving the building is not allowed.
  • Loud and rowdy behavior is not allowed. Fighting is not allowed. If you have a disagreement with another patron, take it off the premises.
  • Please turn your cell phone off when you enter the building.
  • Playing loud music on library property is not allowed.
  • Do not used vulgar or profane language or make ethnic or racial slurs.
  • Refrain from kissing, fondling or other sexual contact while on library property.
